2024 Amador OLD VINE Zinfandel
The new 2024 vintage of Amador Old Vine Zinfandel hails from the legendary Esola Vineyard in the Shenandoah Valley AVA of Amador County. This head-trained, dry farmed Zinfandel vineyard owned by the venerable Denise Esola is planted in granitic soils and produces a wine with intense aromatics and structure all while retaining great acid and freshness. Bluntly said, this wine is awesome and I am so excited to be working with this fruit. Adorned on the label is a bird called a Black Phoebe, which was chosen by my mother who essentially introduced me to the pleasure that is drinking Zinfandel. The small, charcoal colored bird can be found on top of most wineries in the region, beeping its sharp call and zigging and zagging to catch small insects.
The wine was fermented with native yeasts from de-stemmed fruit and aged in neutral oak barrels for 11 months. Three barrels produced.
Must be 21+ to purchase.
*Two bottle minimum (total order) for all shipping orders.
