This vineyard is in the Shenandoah Valley of Amador County, by the name of Fox Creek. It’s quite an old and historic vineyard with the oldest vines going back over a hundred years. I think it makes such a lovely wine and in this vintage, I decided to give the younger vines (30-40 years old) a shot. Well, I’m glad I did because this checks a lot of boxes. There’s this wonderful textured tannin and juicy fruit that bounces off the tongue. Lots of Zin character with confidence, but not over the top and the moderate alcohol lends weight without feeling heavy.
The wine was fermented with native yeast and aged in neutral oak barrels.
